We knew him as a puppy, and knew he was something special then, he grew up to be a strong masterful dog, destined to be a leader, and he was! Rebel would always ensure that the one he was asked to guard and protect, which he would until he was sure all around him were safe and under his protection. When Rebel retired he returned to mum where he spent his remaining time deeply loved, but equally protective He will be sadly missed by us all.

Anthony Smith writes [10 August 2010]:

Rebel was my guide dog for nearly 6 years amd a more loving caring dog you would be hard pressed to find. He did love his comforts, the setee or the bed was perferable to his own place, but, out on the streets he was confident and sure of where we were going and what was needed. His only dislike was the metal cellar entrances on the street. He was much loved addition to Campaign for Real Ale trips and enjoyed the trips out we made. I miss him now and will always miss him. Sleep well my friend.

Vicky Scoble writes [8 August 2010]:

Rebel was a very proud dog, but also a worrier. He would follow my poor Nanny everywhere she went. That's no bad thing, you may think. Well, it's not when your just standing in the kitchen or sat in the garden; but when you are sat on the toliet or trying to hoover, it becomes a little challenging. However, he only did it because his heart was filled with so much love. Rebel made me laugh many a time, and I miss him, but I shall cherish all the time I spent with him, because he truely was one dog in a million. Love you always Rebel xxxxxxxxxx
